The Promised Messiah
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea. This happened while Herod was king of Judea. After Jesus’ birth, Wise Men from the east came to Jerusalem. They asked, “Where is the child who has been born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose. Now we have come to worship him.” – Matthew 2:1-2
In the Old Testament there are anywhere from 300 to over 500 prophecies which Christ fulfills. These prophecies were studied by Jewish Rabbi’s, Pharisees and Priests for centuries. The Jewish people all waited in anticipation of the coming Messiah but none of them truly understood who Christ was.
Then there was the Magi from the east. Warlocks and astrologists, practitioners of sorcerous arts. Men who would have been in the same line of work as the Wiseman and magicians that Nebuchadnezzar called upon to try to interpret his dream of the idol of the nations. Their wicked practice and unnatural arts could not help to interpret a prophecy of the coming kingdom of God. Yet centuries later we see their successors studying the scriptures, and they foresee the coming of the king. This truth could not be revealed by unnatural arts. Nor could it be revealed by the law. We know this because the jewish elders, scribes, priests, and the crowds of Israel only had partial glimpses of the Messiah’s nature. So how then were the Magi able to do this?
Only by the power of God were the Magi able to recognize Christ before he could even speak. It is because the Lord removed the scales from their eyes that they were able to find the Messiah. We are shown throughout the scripture that God despises witchcraft and Astrology. (Deuteronomy 18:10 – 12, Leviticus 19:26, 31, Galatians 5:19 – 21) Yet he still chooses to reveal his truths to these Magi.
Later, in the book of Acts, we see another one of these Magi by the name of Simon the sorcerer. Simon witnesses the incredible miracles and signs that the apostles were performing and appears at first to be a convert. Proclaiming himself to be saved and being baptized before The Lord. This does not last, before long his conversion is revealed to have ulterior motives as he offers the apostles money as payment to gain the powers which God has given them.
We can be confident the magi were true believers because unlike Simon they did not come seeking secret knowledge or offer payment for boons of power. Instead they came to Herod and said “Show us where he is so we may worship him.” The Jewish people looked for a warrior king, the priests, and the elders sought a rabbi and a prophet, but The Magi sought out Christ the Son of God the fulfilment of scripture.
The purpose the Magi were chosen for is the same purpose God chooses each of us for. To lift the scales from our eyes and reveal the secrets that can only be revealed by God. The secret to eternal life. “And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them at the last day” (John 6:40). The chosen are defined by revelation. By the truths and mysteries that God and God alone can reveal to them. The revelation of the true nature of Jesus Christ.
“The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou amid thine enemies.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.” (Psalm 110:1-3)
We must remember that ““There is no one righteous, not even one;” (Romans 3:10) Left to our own devices we will reject Christ just as the masses did, just as the Pharisees and the Jewish elders did, just as the goats and wolves still do to this very day.
“God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:28 – 30)
We are told throughout scripture that witchcraft and sorcery are wicked and abominable things in the eyes of God. Despite this, God chooses the wicked and the abominable to be among the first to worship his Son. It is not just that none are chosen by their merit or status, it is that any can be chosen no matter their sins. For all fall short of The Lord’s expectations, and all are deserving of damnation. And anyone may be chosen to be made worthy of his grace.
Eye of the Needle
And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” – Mark 10:20 – 25
Few Bible Passages strike more fear into the hearts of the wicked than when Jesus meets the rich young ruler who asks him how one is to enter into The Kingdom. This event is described in three of the four gospels and It is not the only time Christ expresses this sentiment. In Luke 16:19 – 30, Jesus tells a parable in which a beggar and a wealthy man both die. The beggar is taken up to heaven but the rich man is dragged to hell. The rich man begs for mercy “But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.” (Luke 16:25) On its own this is already a dire warning for those who live in excess and luxury. But the parable does not end there. The rich man goes on to ask Abraham to warn the rich man’s family of what awaits them if they do not change their ways.
(Luke 16:29 – 31) If the writings of the prophets and the promise of the Gospel are not enough for you to eliminate anything that stands between you and God then nothing will ever be enough. We see this solidified in Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector. Who saw no great signs or miracles but was called out from the crowd by Christ to act as a host to him and his apostles. This transforms Zaccheus and he goes forward as a changed man, giving away all his wealth and earthly possessions.
“You who have made me see many troubles and calamities
will revive me again;
from the depths of the earth
you will bring me up again.
You will increase my greatness
and comfort me again.” (Psalm 71:20 – 21)
We have already discussed how Christ and Christ alone possess the power to soften the hearts of men. This transformative power acts through the revelations of Christ which God reveals to his chosen. The prophet Ezekiel writes “And I (God) will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26) This “softening of the heart” is not just a remodeling of our souls but a total transmutation of identity. When the true nature of Christ is revealed to us, our very hearts and minds are reshaped. Molded to take the shape of righteousness.
The apostles write frequently about this “renewal of the mind” God blesses us with. “But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:20 – 24)
We can not preemptively identify Christs Chosen so that we may evangelize to the chosen alone. Rather we are to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15). Sharing the secret of eternal life with everyone so that those whom God has chosen can hear and be transformed by The Holy Spirit. How does this transformation manifest externally? What behavior should we see as evidence that someone is one of God’s chosen?
They should act like Christ. “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:5 – 7)
Once again this does not mean we are to be kings, or act as little messiahs, rather it means we are to be humble, acting as servants. For the softening of the heart is a transformation by humiliation. The chosen are not transformed into wolves, they are transformed into sheep: meek, humble, trusting, and innocent before The Lord.
Christs Humiliation
One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” – Luke 23: 39 – 43
In the levitical law, to convict a man of a crime you must have two or three witnesses who claim he is guilty (Deuteronomy 19:15). This imagery is used throughout scripture. We have the three heavenly witnesses of the father, the word, and the holy ghost as well as the three earthly witnesses of the spirit, the water, and the blood (1 John 5: 8 – 9). You have the three men who saw that there were no good men in Sodom and Gomorrah. Mark 6 when Jesus is commanding his followers to bear witness he tells them to do so in pairs. In the book of revelation you have the two witnesses who will die and be resurrected. Christ actually tells us that The Son and The Father are witnesses to The Sons divinity (John 8:16 – 18).
When we look at the crucifixion we see two unbiased witnesses of Christ’s innocence, death, and most significantly his Divinity. They are the criminal who was crucified alongside Christ and the Roman officer watching over the crucifixion. Both of whom proclaim Christ’s divinity (Luke 23:32 – 55, Matthew 27: 54). The Roman officer while respectable to the gentiles would have been considered a heathen oppressor by the jews, his testimonial would have no weight to them. The bandits’ testimonial would have been considered worthless by Jew and gentile alike. Yet in this moment, while the high priests and the scribes mock Jesus and insult him. It is these two individuals who bear witnesses to his divinity.
Then in Christ’s resurrection he is seen first by two witnesses, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary. In our Modern Culture this is not as significant as we have more respect for women, but for most of human history women were viewed as hysterical and unreliable witnesses. The two women being the first witnesses to the resurrection would be seen the same as Children telling you they saw a fairy. We see this in the response the twelve apostles have when the women tell them what they’ve seen (Mark 16:11 – 13). Despite this Christ still appears to the two women first. Why?
In apologetics witnesses like the women and the bandits are referred to as “the humiliations of Christ” arguing that if the gospels were a fabrication then Christ would have died an honorable death like a great hero of myth or legend. And the resurrection would have been first witnessed by the twelve apostles or maybe even the Jewish high priest. The thing is Christ can not be humiliated, only glorified. These witnesses do not humiliate Christ, instead they are an act of Christ humiliating Man. A declaration that the witness of the wicked and the foolish is as valuable to God as the witness of any Man. Because in the eyes of God all men are wicked fools.
“Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.
In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.” (Psalm 22:3 – 5)
We have already talked a great deal about how the church has been called to bear witness. Yet we must understand this is why God transforms his Chosen, not to rule over the masses or to guide and discipline us according to God’s will. God humiliates and transforms us so that in the new creation we can see God’s face and witness him in all his glory.
“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:16) Through this transformation we are filled with the Spirit of God so that anywhere we may bear witness we do so knowing there are two witnesses present. Two witnesses who proclaim that we are transformed by the Good news of the death and the resurrection so that we may be more like Christ. So that, being transformed, we may worship and delight in God and act as witnesses sharing the good news to all of creation.
No one, not one is worthy to be chosen by God. We know none are chosen by merit or skill as Moses was a murderer yet God chose him to lead the people out of Egypt and into the promised land. Even being slow of tongue God still chose Moses to be his mouthpiece and speak to Pharaoh on God’s behalf. There is nothing God can not do on his own and there is nothing we can do to bring ourselves closer to God. Only Christ, being fully God and fully man, was able to merit God’s favor. He then lowered himself taking on the sins of man, so that we may be sanctified and made worthy.
We know we are not worthy by bloodline, heritage or ethnicity. For the blood of prostitute and Moabite flowed through David’s veins and he was still chosen to be king. For we all bear the image of the living God. And we are all descended from Adam the first, who was born of earth and bringing sin into the world cursed the earth and all his descendants. Yet there is a Second Adam; who born of heaven became a life giving spirit.
We know we are not worthy by inheritance or birthright. Time and Time again in scripture, from Cain and Abel to Jacob and Esau to Joseph, we see that God chooses the youngest over the firstborn. Christ himself said “For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” (Luke 9:48). All material blessings come from God and will be returned to God in time. Yet Christ died so that he may be the first of many sons and daughters; and so that we be co-heirs to the wealth of heaven.
We know none are saved by piety or wisdom. Christ told us “For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” We are all wicked fools when compared to the infinite glory and wisdom of God. Yet through the gospel those whom God loves become worthy of His infinite unending love. Through Christ, even the testimony of the heathen, the thief, and the fool can become the exalted words of scripture.
There is only one Gospel, the Gospel of Salvation. That Christ was born of a virgin, fully God and Fully Man. Was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, went to hell, and after three days rose from the Dead conquering death and washing away our sins. This is The Gospel, and it is anathema to human culture. It can not be earned or bought. Instead being freely given to those who are completely undeserving.
We must also remember that the chosen of God are not promised security, comfort or wealth; and we are certainly not brought into favoritism or privilege. For even Moses who God proclaimed to be his favorite was nearly struck dead when he failed to uphold the covenant of circumcision. When David murdered Uriah and adulterated with his wife Bethsheba, God forgave him when he repented. But his indiscretion would lead to the depravity and death of his sons, and it was the blood of Uriah which cried out to God when He denied David the building of the Temple. In this life we will suffer for our sins, but we will happily suffer even more for our Savior. We are commanded to share the good news even with the enemies of God and they will seek to destroy us for it. Scripture tells us to love God more than life itself. Christian, bear witness without fear. Even in the face of persecution and martyrdom praise God in confidence and gratitude. For Christ himself tells us “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10)
Logic and Reason
This Wolf King Gospel is not just a branch of the NAR’s teachings. It is the root of the tree from which all christian nationalism gains nourishment and support. Without the wolfking gospel all of it would crumble to the ground and die.
Chances are before reading this book you’ve never even heard of the new Apostolic Reformation. The reality is most christian nationalist probably haven’t and almost definitely don’t support their teachings. Of course they don’t think the rulers of this age will continue to rule over mankind into eternity. They just want to know we live in a country governed by christian values. We do not live in a world of belief and abstraction, we live in a world of truth and fact. What we have to realize is that the ideas of the New Apostolic Reformation are not extreme, they are honest and their teachings are an honest look at what it would truly require for us to form a Christian Nation. You can not have a Christian nation unless the chosen kings of this age continue to rule over us in the eternal kingdom of God.
We can’t live according to The Law because we have no temple and lack an earthly priesthood. Scripture makes this much clear. That now we are under the covenant of grace the law holds no power over us. For theonomy to be true would require the forsaking of the covenant of grace which liberated us. The Church should lead our government, why? To create a more prosperous nation? The only part of scripture that speaks of such things is the Old Testament where it clearly states that the old covenant can only be fulfilled by the people of Israel living in the land God promised them. We are explicitly told that if we follow Christ we no longer live under this old covenant. And under the new covenant, nothing is guaranteed except salvation. For the Christian Government to guarantee us prosperity, God would have had to form a third covenant with these Christian Leaders which exists outside the context of scripture.
Prosperity Gospel teaches that a life of prayer and living according to God’s commandments then God will bless us with prosperity and free us from the spirit of poverty. If it is true that godly living can guarantee prosperity, then it must also be true that all who prosper live godly lives. Even more tragic, if all this is true then there should be no poor christians. For demons have no power over God’s people. Under Prosperity Gospel any christian that struggles with finances must be a false convert.
Even if we remove prosperity from the picture, if we just say “Let us shape the culture to be more Christian so more people can enter the kingdom of heaven” we run into the same problem. If sculpting the culture can lead to more converts than that means that culture has the power to transform the rebellious hearts of men. Scripture makes it clear that God has only given this power to one man, Jesus Christ. So this would require that God has a special relationship outside of scripture with the culture kings. The TV producers, CEOs, and politicians must have a closeness to God whereupon he has bestowed the divine authority to forgive sins.
If the Church can be given earthly authority, whether by God or sinful men like the founding fathers, why does scripture tell us to submit to the earthly authorities in all things? To submit to a false claimant of the authority which is rightfully ours would be cowardly and sinful. Once again, for the church to claim earthly authority would require a new covenant with new scripture and a new priesthood. We don’t even need to talk about this one hypothetically. We have a real world example because this is the greatest of the sins of the Catholic church. Seeking earthly authority the papacy could find no justification in the bible and so proclaimed their traditions inspired and greater God’s word.
Christian Nationalism is held up in its entirety by the belief that the rich and powerful can bypass Christ and his grace to create heaven on earth. Without this idea the entire belief system crumbles. The only thing that makes the New Apostolic Reformation different from any other christian nationalist is that they recognize this problem, explore its implications, and codify it into the theology a false gospel which they proudly proclaim.
“This is why Jesus said, “This gospel of the kingdom [not the gospel of salvation] will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations” (Matt. 24:14 NKJV)” (Lance Wallnau)
“Any Gospel that doesn’t work in the Market doesn’t work.” (Johnson)
The teachings of the New Apostolic Reformation are unbiblical and anti-Christ. Gods chosen are not signified through gold or earthly authority. They are signified through the power of the Holy Spirit which turns their hearts away from sin and towards The Lord. Christian, it is not our Job to seek out the chosen so that we may evangelize to them. Rather scripture commands us that we are to share the Gospel with anyone who will listen so that The holy spirit may reveal the truth of Scripture to those whom God loves, and has loved since before the foundations of the earth.
Conclusion
The great magic trick of christian nationalism is the illusion of being impersonal. By being a mix of a religious and political movement it misdirects you into focusing on how this impacts the nation and the culture. Leaving you blind to its true impact. Please take your eyes away from the horizon and see what is happening right in front of you.
People are suffering because of these teachings. The church is suffering because of these teachings. Congregations are falling into disarray and dispersing, families become divided, communities have been destroyed. But it’s true nature is most obvious when we look at the impact it has on individuals.
This is not just a source of destruction for our churches and our country, it’s also a force that corrodes your soul. The tree of christian nationalism breeds nothing but contempt, and anger, and fear that eventually transform into hatred, and rage, and anxiety and above all else pride. These are not the fruits of the spirit, not the things Christ calls us to be.
I ask you two things. First I ask you to pray. Pray for endurance, for these teachings have become commonplace and those who oppose them will undoubtedly face adversity. And pray that God would reveal the hardness of our hearts. So that we may see the true nature of these false teachings. So that the snakes may be driven from the church.
Second I would ask that you push back against these teachings diligently, unwaveringly, and gracefully. We do not have the power to change the hearts of men, but we can witness to them. Share the true nature of the gospel with your words and actions knowing that Christ will transform the hearts of those whom he loves. For those whose hearts Christ does not transform, rest knowing you’ve given them no excuse.
